Dafô Quartet

Established in 1993, this is the first female string quartet in Poland. The quartet has won the Frederyk prize twice for recordings of twentieth century Polish music, including the string quartets of G. Bacewicz, T. Baird, Penderecki, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, K. Meyer and P. Szymański. The Dafo Quartet specializes in performing contemporary music for which it has won many awards. Apart from contemporary music, the repertoire of the quartet includes chamber music of different eras, quintets, sextets, octets and concerts for string quartet and orchestra. The Dafo Quartet has won numerous awards at national and international competitions. The Quartet’s members are Justin Duda-Krane (violin), Danuta Augustyn (violin), Aneta Dumanowska-Bogacz (viola), and Anna Armatys-Borelli (cello).
